ESTES STUDENTS & STAFF REJOICE: RICE IN THE FIELDS!

DSC03310

Did you know that Mission: Chad is now the largest, regular donor to ESTES? Every month faculty is paid and students are being trained due, in large measure, to your generosity. Amazing grace! This year, we were also able to install a small irrigation system for the bible school to help the staff and students raise their own rice to feed their families. In December, we saw the first harvest! We wish you could have seen the joy it brought – it is hard to study if you and your family are hungry. Due to its success, we are hoping to expand this project (and even start a student-run business!) to help the school become self-sustaining in the years to come!

List of Needs and Dreams for ESTES:

1. Support for Students: $2,000 for a full year (tuition and living expenses)
2. Transportation for Faculty: $1,500 for a motorcycle (two needed)
3. Four Laptops and Greek and Hebrew Text Books for the School ($8,000)
4. Sewing Machines and Supplies for the Women's Program ($170 per machine)
5. $10,000 to expand irrigation system to enable two growing seasons a year
6. $50,000 for an Ice-Making Machine to start the business that will support the school.
7. $100,000 for the repair and expansion of the buildings, which are in dire need!
