Message from the President: "Doing The Same Old Things"

This newsletter finds the Mission: Chad family doing more of "the same old things." No big news! As the founding mission behind the orphan projects and now the largest regular donor to the bible school, our calling, month in and month out, remains very much the same: to support the daily physical and educational needs of the orphans and widows as the ministry continues to grow, to secure the safety of the village by building its wall, and to strengthen the operating budget and infra-structure of the bible school. As God provides, we love to do special projects, and we have many dreams. But day in and day out we are committed to providing the basics for these strategic ministries, without which nothing else can take place. Without your faithful giving to the "same old things," therefore, none of this would be possible. But basics, like breathing, can be uninspiring.

I pray that you are not getting tired of being a part of these "same old things." There is nothing too fancy or exciting about bricks and books, food and a faculty, unless, of course, a child is scared at night and a church cannot find answers to their questions about God. Your gifts are tangible expressions of God's "same old" forgiveness, strength, care, guidance, provision, and discipline on the long, hard road that winds through this fallen world. We extend to others, in Jesus' name, the same things God grants to us, as we join the psalmist who prayed, "So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, till I proclaim thy might to all the generations to come" (Psalm 71:18). God answers this prayer. He is with us for the long haul (Matthew 28:20). And so, as a matter of our faith, we keep on going with these same old, long, hard projects for the children and churches of Chad. Indeed, gratefully, nothing much has changed since our last newsletter. God is the same (1 Corinthians 12:4-5; 13:13). You continue to be faithful. And orphans and widows are being rescued, children are being educated, pastors are being trained, faith is being encouraged. Thank you for your vision for a ministry that looks not to next month but to the next generation! It is an act of praise to the Lord and a great encouragement to us. Please pray for us.
