We try to keep the news focused on the work being done in Chad and how you can participate in it, but there have been recent changes with the board, so we thought that it would be a good time to give an update on the board.
Board Members: President: Dr. Scott Hafemann, Vice President: Vivi Wickberg, Treasurer: John Wickberg, Secretary: David Detert, VP Public Relations: Steve Hoffman, Director: Nancie Hoffman and Director: Steve Brendle.
Steve Brendle is the newest member of the board—he was officially welcomed to the board during a conference call in November. Steve is a long term member of Spanish River Church, our partner in the work at Village Altonodji. He has been involved with their mission committee on Chad since he took a trip to Chad in 2007. Steve has a strong desire to see the work in Chad flourish and we look forward to his service on the board.
In other news, Dr. Scott Hafemann and his wife Debara moved to Scotland on August 27th. He is now teaching New Testament studies at the University of St. Andrews. When Mission:Chad had its annual meeting in July, Scott was wondering whether or not he would be able to continue his involvement in Mission:Chad. However, the rest of the board encouraged him to stay on and continue the work.
Because of his schedule at St. Andrews, Scott won't have the freedom to go to Chad and teach during January like he has been able to do many times in the past. This is the best time of year for this, so it is a matter of prayer that another time period can be found that will be good for Scott and the students at ESTES.
